Why it Matters
Users rely on the navigation bar to stay updated on conversations, meetings, and notifications. However, small and hard-to-read notification bubbles have created usability challenges, reducing clarity and engagement. By improving the display of notifications, we’re ensuring users can easily stay on top of important events and act on them promptly.
What’s Changing?
We’re improving notification bubbles across key sections of the navigation bar:
- Chat:
- Displays the number of unread conversations.
- The bubble count dynamically decreases as users open conversations with unread messages, helping them stay organized and informed.
- Schedule:
- Shows a bubble for meeting invites in the “Awaiting Response” status.
- Updates when users respond to invitations.
- Rescheduling Flexibility: If a meeting has expired but can still be rescheduled (e.g., the event spans several days), the bubble remains active until action is taken.
- Notifications:
- Clearly indicates new/unread notifications with a bubble count.
- The bubble disappears when users tap to view the notification screen, without requiring them to open every individual notification.
How It Benefits Users
- Improved Clarity: Larger, easier-to-read bubbles ensure users can quickly spot important updates.
- Actionable Alerts: Notification bubbles across all sections will provide clear, up-to-date information, helping users stay informed and take action when necessary.
- Streamlined Experience: A consistent, user-friendly approach reduces frustration and enhances engagement.
This update makes the navigation bar smarter, clearer, and more aligned with user needs, ensuring you never miss a moment that matters. You will be able to enjoy it after December 17th in Grip Mobile Apps.
